Using the Fender Hammertone Distortion Guitar Pedal is easy. First, connect your guitar to the input jack and your amplifier to the output jack. You can power it with a 9 - Volt battery or a center negative AC adaptor (you'll need to get the adaptor separately). Turn on the pedal using the true bypass footswitch. Adjust the 2 - band Bass and Treble EQ controls to shape your tone according to your music style. For light drive, you can keep the settings relatively low, and for heavy crunch, increase the levels. When you're done using the pedal, turn it off. If you're using a battery, remove it when the pedal won't be used for a long time to avoid battery leakage. Keep the pedal in a dry and clean place. Wipe it with a soft cloth if it gets dirty. Don't expose it to extreme temperatures or humidity, as this can damage the internal electronics.
