The graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck with a scarf joint design is rock-solid. The speed neck contour and 12'-16' compound radius laurel fingerboard with 24 frets offer lightning-fast playability. The Spectra Bass JS3Q delivers a unique sound. Whether you're into funk, hard rock, or gospel, dual passive Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups create a powerful low-end growl. The HiMass™ bridge provides stability, sustain, and a bolder tone. You can refine the tone with a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting, 3-band EQ (active only), blend control, and volume control (with a push/pull selector to bypass or engage the active circuit for the 3-band EQ). With the push/pull selector, you don't have to worry about a dead battery. Just pull the volume knob to bypass the active circuit. Using your Jackson JS3Q Spectra IV Bass is a breeze. First, make sure your bass is in tune using the Jackson® Sealed Die - Cast tuning machines. To change the sound, you can use the controls on the bass. The volume control has a push/pull selector. If your battery runs out, just pull the volume knob to bypass the active circuit and keep playing. The two - way toggle switch can split the pickup coils for different tones. The blend control helps you mix the sounds from the bridge and neck pickups, and the 3 - band EQ (when the battery is working) lets you fine - tune the bass, mid, and treble. When it comes to maintenance, keep your bass clean. Use a soft cloth to wipe it down after each use. Check the truss rod regularly using the provided wrench to ensure the neck is in good shape. Store your bass in a proper case to protect it from bumps and scratches. Also, change the nickel - plated steel strings regularly, about every few months depending on how often you play, to keep the sound fresh and clear.
